Matcha is a fine green tea powder made from ground Gyokuro leaves. Only the youngest shade-grown Gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha powder. 

Part of the uniqueness of matcha is that it includes the entire leaf. This explains why it contains a relatively high stimulant content compared to other teas, giving you a refreshing, energetic boost.
