We’re finding ways to minimize our environmental footprint, tackle climate change, and inspire others to do the same.

So ever since we opened our first store in 2017, we dedicated ourselves to earning the trust and respect of our customers and promoting environmental sustainability at our level.

Bamboo Fibers Straws

In December 2019, Lemoncha introduced bamboo fiber straws in its tea bars and replaced all of its plastic straws; it was the first tea bar in Switzerland to do so. Compostable plastic (PLA) as well as other materials must be heated up to 60°C to begin to decompose. Bamboo fiber degrades itself over time due to the action of natural microorganisms. It is a 100% non-toxic alternative. And 100% ecological. These straws are therefore biodegradable, durable and efficient.

Reusable Cups

Reducing the environmental impact of our cups depends on the success of two interrelated efforts: developing recyclable cup solutions and dramatically increasing our customers’ use of reusable cups. A lot of our customers are also working to reduce their own environmental impact even as we are.

We offer exclusive Lemoncha tumblers and bottles and encourage customers to use their own reusable recipient for their beverages when ordering their drink in store by giving them a discount on their drinks when using reusable containers.

Reusable Straws

Lemoncha was among the first Tea Bars to introduce reusable stainless steel straws to its merchandises. Many of our customers help us reduce the use of disposables plastic straws by using this product.

Smart Lighting

We’ve further reduced our energy consumption by replacing incandescent and halogen lighting in all our shops with more efficient LED lighting. Our ambiance lighting runs on a timer and is turned off every night.

Fresh Milk – Locally Sourced

Unlike many other shops, we do our best to avoid using evaporated milk in our drinks. We only use locally sourced milk and we also offer a wide range of organic veggie milks to craft your drinks.
